Secure Server 128 bit SSL Data Encryption
Do you need to implement a secure server technology for your web site to process customer data, or accept credit card payments?
Do you require a secure payments gateway for real time credit card processing?
If you sell products or services from your web site, the fact is that unless you have secure order forms implemented for your customers, they may not purchase from you at all.
If you have a small turnover web site, you may think that secure server data encryption is out of your price range. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you sell products or services from your web site or collect customer data, then you cannot afford NOT to have secure server technology for your web site.
What is SSL?
SSL ( S ecure S ocket L ayer) is an encrypted link between the web server and your customer's browser. Once the link is established all communication between the web server and your customer's browser will remain confidential.
What is the strongest SSL standard publicly available?
The strongest publicly available standard is 128 bit SSL. We use only 128 bit SSL server technology. This is the same encryption technology that is used by banking insitutions. Beware of certificates and web hosting providers who use the much weaker 40 bit SSL standard. Stronger encryption standards (such as 256 bit encryption) are only available to the military and government security agencies, and are not available to the public at this time.
What secure server options are available for my web site, and what is the cost?
We have two options available:
Shared Secure 128 bit SSL Certificate - the most cost effective solution for small transaction web sites.
If your web site only has low cost (under $250.00 per order), or low volume data transactions (under $2000.00 per month) then our shared 128 bit ssl certificate option is the way to go for most Internet merchants.
Using the strongest data encryption currently available to the public, our shared 128 bit SSL Certificate option allows your customers to supply sensitive credit card details or personal data in a secure 128 bit encrypted environment. This gives your customers the confidence to do business with you. At only AU $3.30 per month, this is also the most cost effective option available.
What are the advantages of using a shared SSL certificate as opposed to having my own certificate?
- Cost - shared SSL is by far the most cost effective option available for 128 bit data encryption available.
- Time to implement - we can you set up on our shared secure server in a matter of hours, as opposed to days or even weeks waiting for your own SSL certificate.
- Convenience - no need to manage, renew and re-install your own SSL certificate year after year, we do it all for you. If you have several web sites, the same shared ssl secure server account can be shared amongst all of your web sites. If you do decide to change your web host, you do not have to renew and re-install your SSL certificate.
- Credibility - the name of our shared ssl web server, 128bitssl.net was chosen to instill confidence in your customers that they are on a secure server.
- It's easy - there is no need to be a technical guru to learn how to install your own certificate, or pay big $$$ to get somebody else to do it for you.
How does shared ssl work?
When your customers visit your web site at your regular web site address of say www.yourdomainname.com and decide to place an order with you, they simply click a link or order button on your web site, which links to an order form on your secure server space at https://www.128bitssl.net/yourdomain.com /yourorderform.htm
The customer is seamlessly transfered to a 128 bit ssl encrypted secure server. However because you can design your web pages, order forms and applications to have the same look and feel of your own web site, the customer will not necesarily even be aware that they have left your web site.
The customer will know however that they are on a secure server, because the web address in the web browser address bar will start with https:// and there will be a small yellow padlock in the right hand side of the status bar of their web browser.
Your customer can place their order with the peace of mind that any information they give to you will be encrypted at the point of data entry, and that hackers cannot steal their data.
128 bit SSL Secure Certificate
If your web site has high value transactions (over $250.00 per order) , or high volume data transactions (over $2000.00 per month) then you should consider obtaining your own 128 bit SSL certificate for your web site.
Using the strongest data encryption currently available to the public, our 128 bit SSL certificates once installed on your web site allow your customers to supply sensitive credit card details or personal data in a secure 128 bit encrypted environment. This gives your customers the confidence to do business with you. Starting from only $165.00 per year installed, our secure certificates give the same security and browser ubiquity of other 128 bit SSL certificates costing 3 or 4 times the amount.
